The forthcoming 2024 GMC Sierra HD has been spied testing for a second time this year. As far as we know, the new pickup truck will debut sometime next year, featuring completely new front and back ends. We’re also expecting as well to see many changes and upgrades inside, which should translate into more comfort.
Interestingly, the engine lineup will not change at all. However, we’re expecting the new pickup truck to gain more power. In case you didn’t know, the truck lineup starts with a standard 6.6-liter V8 gasoline engine that produces 450 horsepower. Optionally, you can get a well-known and proven 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel variant that has a stronger output of 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque.
2024 GMC Sierra HD Facelift
The heavily camouflaged 2024 GMC Sierra HD is hiding some upcoming upgrades and changes. As far as we can see, the upcoming truck will probably come with fresh front and rear fascias. The redesigned grille and revised headlights are expected, which should make the front of this truck more attractive.
The back of this truck could also receive some refreshments, including a new taillight and bumper. However, as you probably know, it all depends on the trim level you choose. The most expensive Denali model will introduce more features, while AT4 brings way better off-road capability. According to many reports, GM will also introduce some new exterior colors and more options on the range-topping trim levels.
Comfortable Interior
The 2024 GMC Sierra HD will have a more comfortable cabin compared to the outgoing version thanks to using of high-quality materials. However, the highlight inside will be definitively a new larger infotainment display that should replace an 8-inch touchscreen.
As before, expect Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a few USB-C ports, to come as standard. The upper trim level like Denali trim will bring more premium equipment. So, expect a new Bose sound system, leather seats, and more.

2024 GMC Sierra HD Engine Specs
As we said, the forthcoming 2024 GMC Sierra HD is the truck that will be available with two engine choices. The first engine is a 6.6-liter V8 gasoline one capable of producing 450 vs (401 horsepower in last year’s model) and 464 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed automatic transmission is used on this engine, along with the standard RWD setup. You can also get an optional AWD system.
In our opinion, the better option is a 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel variant¸ which makes 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. Unlike the standard engine, the Duramax comes standard with Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. As for towing, the petrol unit can tow up to 18,500 pounds of towing capacity, while the diesel powertrain is around 35,500 pounds.
