Judging by a new spy shot, the 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD is about to receive a major refresh. As we can see, the forthcoming heavy-duty truck will come with a new front and rear end. It will also probably have a much better interior and some powertrain remapping.
It’s also noteworthy that this model was originally scheduled for the 2023 model year, but due shortage of superconductor chips and complications brought on by COVID-19 and , it is postponed for the next year. So, we can expect this model to be fully unveiled later this year, while sales should start in late 2023.
Refreshed Design
As we said, the new spy shots are available, and the 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD will be refreshed. First of all, the front end seems updated with a bigger grille and new-shaped headlights. Also, more stylish wheels are present, as are wider side steps.
On the rear, we also saw some changes, and the new GMC Sierra 2500HD will get deeper cab and new tailgate. Likewise, the taillights are more wider, and we expect to see a LED lightings.

The new GMC Sierra 2500HD is a truck that’s powered by a strong engine. The standard is a gas-powered 6.6-liter V-8 that is able to generate 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. This engine sends power through a six-speed automatic transmission and rear wheel as standard, while all-wheel drive is optional. The optional engine is a Duramax diesel 6.6-liter V-8 that produces 445 ponies and 910 pound-feet of twist. Unlike the base one, this one works together with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. From what we’ve been told, the optional engine will be remapped, delivering 1000+ pound-feet of twist.
Towing is the strongest point of this truck. The Sierra 2500HD, which comes with a single-rear-wheel axle, can pull 3979 pounds of payload and 18,500 pounds of towing. On the other hand, the Sierra 3500HD can tow a maximum of 35,500 pounds.

2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD Price, Release Date
Based on the available information, the new 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD will cost a thousand dollars more compared to the outgoing model. Anyway, the exact price is not yet revealed by officials.
The current model is available in five trims starting from a Pro that cost $42,800, while SLE is $48,000, SLT around $59,000, AT4 at $66,200, while the most expensive Denali at $71,200. All mentioned models above will be available to purchase sometime next year.
