The spy shots of the upcoming 2024 GMC Canyon are available, and it seems that the new truck is getting some mild refresh this time. In case you didn’t know, the mid-size pickup category is crowded with many popular trucks including the Nissan Frontier, Ford Ranger, and Jeep Gladiator.

Sure, we cannot wait to see how the upcoming GMC Canyon will keep up with mentioned models after its redesign. Meantime, the manufacturer will also refresh GM’s Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon models as well, so expect some spy shots in the coming weeks.

2024 GMC Canyon First Look

The spy shots of the 2024 GMC Canyon are available, and there are some interestingly visible changes. First of all, the proportions of the new truck remain, while more handsome styling is present. Frontal styling changes a bit thanks to an egg-crate grille flanked by a pair of two stylish tiered headlamps.

We also noticed chunky, squared-off fenders and more attractive wheels. The view from the rear reveals a competitively sized bed box, attractive LED taillights, and a heavily pressed tailgate.

More Technology Rich Cabin

The 2024 GMC Canyon comes with a very practical and functional interior, featuring more quality materials compared to the outgoing model. The seating space is roomy and there is enough room for up to five passengers. Although, you will get a reasonably roomy back seat area choosing the crew cab models, which makes this truck family friendly. In general, the interior is borrowed heavily from the latest Sierra 1500.

The Canyon Denali is one of the favorite and most expensive models with quite an upscale cabin. This variant includes premium leather seats, Bose 7-speaker premium audio, and ventilated front seats. We also must mention, that Denali is the only trim that comes standard with the upgraded infotainment system and navigation.

2024 GMC Canyon Engine Specs

At the moment, we don’t have official confirmation on which powertrain will be available under the hood of the 2024 GMC Canyon. From the information that we got, the new truck will deploy a proven 2.7-liter inline-four turbo unit probably as the only form of propulsion. This unit uses GM’s 10-speed automatic and is able to produce 310 hp and 430 pound-feet of torque. That’s much more power compared to the current 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 308 hp and 275 lb-ft.

2024 GMC Canyon Price, Release Date

The starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price of the 2024 GMC Canyon will be slightly higher compared to the current one which cost $26,800 for the base 2WD Elevation Standard Extended Cab model. The better-equipped Elevation keeps the same price of $30,300, while the off-road-ready AT4 model is a little less than $38,500.

The most luxurious is the Denali trim with a starting price of $41,200. Also, we must note that the price varies depending on which cab and box configuration you choose. Anyway, compared to other models in the class, the Chevy Colorado is very close to the Toyota Tacoma and slightly higher than the Ford Ranger. The sales will begin later next year, most likely around October.
