Due to high demand, Ford will reportedly start again orders of its first electric pickup truck F-150 Lightning. As far as we know, the production of the new 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning should begin sometime next year, meaning the electric pickup truck could heading to customers in the fall of 2023 as the 2024 model.
As you probably know, the new truck is an all-electric, powered by two transverse-mounted fixed-magnet AC electric motors. Thanks to that, an all-wheel-drive system is standard. 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning Design
The all-electric 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning compared to the standard F-150 pickup truck comes with a few tweaks. It features an attractive closed grille and LED strip, which is going across the hood and connecting the LED headlight units. Lariat trim, on the other hand, has a red LED strip at the back and its own grille treatments.
The XLT is one of the favorite models because it comes with black-finished fixed running boards and 20-inch alloys finished in Dark Carbonized Gray. Nevertheless, the Pro comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, while the Platinum has 2-tone bright aluminum/black 22-inch alloys.
Modern Cabin
The interior of the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning looks almost the same as the gasoline-powered F-150. However, there are a few key differences, and the Lightning is offered only as a crew cab with a 5.5-foot bed. Speaking of technology compared to those models, the Lightning features a huge 12.0- inch touchscreen infotainment system with Ford’s latest Sync 4 software.
Anyway, you can also get an even bigger 15.0-inch display by choosing the Lariat and Platinum models. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, in-dash navigation, and a Wi-Fi hotspot, are all standard. In general, there is plenty of customization, and you can get Bang & Olufsen premium stereo systems, one with eight speakers in the Lariat trim level or 18 speakers in the Platinum.

2024 Ford F-150 Lightning Motor Specs
According to Blue Oval, the new 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning will be available in two configurations. As standard, this truck offers two mounted AC electric motors, one for each axle, creating an all-wheel-drive system. A standard-range battery is able to provide 452 horsepower and around 230 miles. However, choosing the extended-range battery, you’ll get 563 horses and 320 miles. Both setups will have 775 lb-ft of torque.
On top of that, the model with an extended-range battery can pull 10,000 pounds, while a standard-range battery is respectable at 7,700 pounds. It is also worth mentioning that with DC fast-charging station at 150 kW, you can charge 80 percent capacity in less than 45 minutes.

2024 Ford F-150 Lightning Price, Release Date
The base Pro model with the standard-range battery starts at less than $40k$, plus a destination charge. However, the price will jump if choosing the XLT, which starts at $52,974. The most expensive is the Platinum trim at $90,474.
As you can see, the new F-150 Lightning is in line with Tesla Cybertruck, while GMC Hummer EV Pickup is way expensive around $63k, respectively. As we said, the orders of the F-150 Lightning should start sometime next year.
