The mid-size pickup, the 2024 Chevy Colorado, is likely to receive many updates, just like its recently introduced pickup brother, the Silverado 1500. This truck offers great design and provides excellent handling. If this is not enough for you, the manufacturer also offers a mud-eating ZR2 off-road model, which is definitely a highlight.

Anyway, we’re expecting the new truck to share many elements with the previous-generation Colorado that debuted last year. Unfortunately, exact details on the new pickup truck are still closely guarded, but we have got some information that we will be glad to share with you. Here’s everything we know so far.

2024 Chevy Colorado Exterior

The forthcoming 2024 Chevy Colorado is a mid-size pickup truck with a very stylish design. In general, the aesthetic of this truck can change quite drastically depending on trim levels and packages. For example, the dark Midnight Edition, which is available on the Z71 and ZR2 models, adds many black accents.

There is also a Chrome Appearance Package, which adds more Chrome around the grille and rear. The range-topping ZR2 is the best option if you’re looking for the best off-roader in the pickup truck lineup. This trim includes red recovery hooks, DDSV Multimatic suspension dampers, fender flares, and a rugged appearance package.

What’s New?

The cabin of the 2024 Chevy Colorado has a pretty simple design. The crew cab is our favorite option because it provides much more back-seat space. Anyway, the front seats are very supportive no matter which configuration you choose, and they are comfortable enough for long-distance cruising. We must mention that most of Colorado’s rivals have more space in the back.

On the technology front, the base trim includes two extra USB ports, OnStar, an auto-dimming mirror, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, remote keyless entry, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio and cruise control.

2024 Chevy Colorado Engine Specs

One of the strongest suits of the 2024 Chevy Colorado is its powertrains. Unlike its competitors, the new truck will reportedly offer three engines. The base engine is an inline-4 that’s able of producing 200 horsepower. Upgrading to the 3.6-liter V6 brings a significant increase in power 308 horses and 275 lb-ft of torque. Finally, there’s the 2.8-liter turbodiesel inline-4 Duramax with an outstanding torque rating of 369 lb-ft. This model makes 186 horsepower, which is significantly less than other mentioned engines.

The max tow rating depends on the engine. Moreover, when Colorado is properly equipped, it can tow up to 3,500 lbs with the base 4-cylinder, while V6 doubles that with a max tow rating of 7,000 lbs. The Duramax diesel is still the towing king with 7,700 lbs of pounds. The base engine and the turbodiesel come as standard with 6-speed automatic transmission, while V6 is linked to an 8-speed automatic. Also, rear-wheel drive is standard, while the 4-wheel drive is optional.

2024 Chevy Colorado Price, Release Date

At the moment, we don’t know the exact pricing of the new 2024 Chevy Colorado. If we can rely on the previous figures, the forthcoming model will start at $25,200 for the bare-bones WT 2WD Extended Cab model. We recommend stepping up to a better-equipped LT trim, which starts at $27,700.

The long-awaited off-road-oriented Z71 model should cost $34,800, while the beastly ZR2 begins at $42,600. As you can see, pricing varies depending on the chosen trim. By the way, the price of Colorado is in line with rivals like the Ford Ranger and Toyota Tacoma. The new pickup truck should be available for purchase early next year.
