Ram officials have confirmed that they are working on the all-electric version of its popular 1500 full-size pickup truck. From information that’s available, the new truck will be called 2023 Ram 1500 EV, and it will debut sometime next year.
Ram confirmed that it would also ride on a new platform, and it will have fast charging to up to 150 kW. Generally speaking, Ram is targeting a range of up to 500 miles to keep up with rivals such as the F-150 Lightning, and the GMC Hummer EV model that can travel 350 miles. Interestingly, some of the new renderings are available, and the forthcoming truck looks really futuristic.
What Do We Know About Its Exterior?
First of all, the 2023 Ram 1500 EV will ride on the new platform that will be scratched compared to the original model. Thanks to that, we should expect a more comfortable cabin and many benefits from it.
In general, at this point there is no much news about this truck, but we have some renderings that reveal some novelties. As far as we can see, the forthcoming truck will look futuristic, and it will dominate at the front with new headlights and big Ram lettering in the middle of the grille. We also noticed new shaped fog lights and very shiny black wheels.
We heard plenty of speculations, and one of them is that the 2023 Ram 1500 EV will gain a completely new cabin. In general, we don’t expect something revolutionary compared to the non-EV model, but the manufacturer will definitively try to lure more buyers with a new look.
First thing first, Ram will add more quality materials, and we also expect to see more technology. Obviously, the Ram EV thanks to its platform will offer more room, but we still expect it to fit five passengers, providing great comfort.
2023 Ram 1500 EV Specs
The new 2023 Ram 1500 EV will be an all-electric truck that should use the same system as the Ford Lighting, and the Hummer EV models. The manufacturer will not immediately replace the combustion-engine variant, so expect the next Ram to be available with a few engine options.
As mentioned, the new truck will ride on a platform that will allow fast charging up to 150 kW. In general, Ram will try to beat its rivals targeting a range of up to 500 miles.
