2023 Ford Maverick ST

The performance-focused 2023 Ford Maverick ST has been spied testing recently, featuring an attractive grille and modified rear bumper. Fortunately, the forthcoming pickup is caught without any camouflage cover. Unlike the original model, the ST comes with a revised front fascia, skid plate, and a higher ride height.

We got information that it might also get a more powerful engine, and two exhaust pipes confirm that claim. Blue Oval company will reportedly fully show the new pickup later this year, while sales can be expected likely in the first quarter of 2023.

2023 Ford Maverick ST Exterior

The recently spied 2023 Ford Maverick ST looks way sporty than the original one. Interestingly, we immediately noticed an interesting detail on the upcoming ST performance variant. First of all, the front grille is wider, and by looking behind the grille, we noticed an extra intercooler.

It seems like this powertrain needs extra cooling for some reason. Ford also added new attractive wheels and fenders that are out farther than on the current versions of the Maverick. On the rear, the spied truck features a modified rear bumper with cut-out sections on each side.

Interior

Inside, the 2023 Ford Maverick ST will be both functional and sporty. According to many reports, the forthcoming model will come with comfortable seats wearing 2-tone rugged material with contrast stitching. The leather will be available as standard, just like an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Other features that are available as well includes FordPass Connect with an embedded modem and Wi-Fi for up to 10 devices. The Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of safety is available as well, and we expect ST to come with adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assist, lane centering, and rear parking sensors, the same package that you can also get on the top-of-the-line Lariat.

2023 Ford Maverick ST Engine Rumors

The new 2023 Ford Maverick ST will be likely powered by some of Ford’s existing engines. In case you didn’t know, Ford has a variety of engines that could go under the Maverick ST. The standard variant is using a hybrid powertrain that consists of a 2.5-liter Atkinson inline-4 + 94-kW battery pack.

Combined, the hybrid system produces 191 total system horsepower. Along this engine, Blue Oval is also offering an optional 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 developing 250 horsepower. There is a huge possibility that the ST variant will use a 2.3-liter engine that makes 280 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. While this may seem like a small power boost over the standard version, keep in mind that the Ford Maverick is a compact truck.

2023 Ford Maverick ST Price, Release Date

The non-ST Maverick starts at $19,995, not including a destination charge of $1,500. That price is for the XL trim level and the hybrid powertrain, which comes exclusively with front-wheel drive. If you want all-wheel drive, you must add $3,305 extra on the XL.

A midlevel XLT model starts at $22,360, while the top-of-the-line Lariat is around $26,000. However, we expect the ST model to cost around $35,000. As for the debut, many believe it will arrive later this year.
