The upcoming 2022 Chevrolet Silverado is continuing with the improvements. After this pickup truck arrived with a tweaked design, the 2022 model will introduce major interior updates. The latest proof is the spy photos that are showing only a glimpse of the cabin and its novelties. As for the exterior design, this model will get a mid-cycle facelift.
Nothing will change under the hood, according to the latest reports. That means the 2022 Silverado will arrive with visual updates and various technology upgrades. The sales should begin in the second half of 2021 and here’s everything you need to know.
2022 Silverado Gets Mid-Cycle Facelift
We don’t expect to see major visual changes. The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado has been spied and the prototype shows the latest cosmetic upgrades. However, the heavy camouflage perfectly hides some of the exterior parts. The prototype was spied in High Country disguise. It is an upper trim level with additional chrome trims.
Thanks to that, it was easy to realize that we are looking at the Silverado High Country variant. This premium trim also shows new stylish wheels. However, the chrome window trim suggests that this pickup truck is still in the stage of development. We are hoping to see numerous exterior improvements, including new bumpers, lighting elements, and exterior paints.
Super Cruise Finally Available
The interior will get more major updates, according to the newest spy photos. The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado will introduce a lot of new things. For a start, the cabin surfaces are camouflaged but new screens are easy to spot. This clearly suggests the presence of the Super Cruise system. Silverado’s interior slowly changed over the years and it has been a subject of criticism.
However, we can see that GM plans to provide significant changes. Thanks to that, we should expect more high-quality materials and more standard equipment. A full digital cluster now comes with a larger infotainment screen. However, the GM’s Super Cruise highway semi-autonomous driving suite is the highlight of the 2022 Silverado.
The forthcoming 2022 Chevrolet Silverado should remain intact in terms of performances. Under the bonnet, GM offers a familiar 5.3-liter V8 gasoline powertrain with 355 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, a larger 6.2-liter engine is optional once again and this unit delivers 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. A 3.0-liter diesel is optional as well.
It is perhaps the best diesel engine in the United States, and it will deliver a higher torque level. Moreover, diesel will help you with fuel efficiency and towing capacity. Electrification is on the cards too, but the 2022 Silverado won’t arrive with any sort of hybrid powertrain. This is another issue for GM as Ford is about to introduce an all-electric F-150 pickup.
2022 Chevrolet Silverado Release Date and Price
Both Silverado and Sierra models will arrive at some point during the next year. Most likely, the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado will go on sale next summer or even fall. The price will start at about $33,000 for the base trim level. It is too early to speculate about these things and we are waiting for GM to unveil more details.
