New 2021 Ram 3500 will arrive with another mid-cycle refreshment. That includes a complete heavy-duty lineup that Ram has to offer. Like before, Ram will try to deliver a more striking design that is closer to the Ram 1500 pickup. Chevrolet and Ford are also improving their heavy-duty trucks, so the race continues in 2021.
All three brands are offering amazing and probably the best trucks in the world at the moment. However, Ram 3500 is managing the best sales right now. For 2021, Ram 3500 could get small performance improvements, and even a hybrid powertrain has been rumored.
Ram 3500 Styling Changes
The upcoming 2021 Ram 3500 will look closer to the Ram 1500 model. The goal is to deliver a more stylish appearance to such a rugged truck, such as Ram 3500. Still, the changes are minor, so don’t expect significant upgrades. As a result, the new model will look more aggressive. However, some parts are looking stylish and classy.
The front fascia will host modified headlights, and generally, the front part looks sharper than before. The rear end sports very modern taillights that will be reshaped. To the sides, changes are very subtle and almost impossible to spot.
The cabin of the 2021 Ram 3500 will also host a couple of minor updates. The forthcoming truck should obtain more tech, but that’s it. On top of that, a new model should offer more standard equipment than the outgoing version. Ram will work on some new and optional amenities, too, mostly on the driver-assistance aids.
Displays will feature a new interface, and the infotainment system is up to date also. We don’t know how much the interior design will change but don’t expect any significant improvement. Some rumors are suggesting new layout inside the Mega Cab setup but this is just a rumor.
Under the hood, this truck will continue with the same engine lineup. However, new 2021 Ram 3500 could get more power. For a start, a 5.7-liter V8 will remain standard engine option with 385 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. Larger 6.4-liter Hemi V8 is optional. This engine is capable of producing 410 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of twisting power. However, optional 6.7-liter Cummins will remain the most popular choice among the customers. Diesel powertrain offers 370 hp and up to 930 lb-ft of torque.
Moreover, Ram could improve the torque ratings for its diesel engine. Ram 3500 can tow up to 14,000 pounds with a gasoline engine. However, diesel powertrain has been rated at over 30,000. Both six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission are in the offer. Some reports are suggesting the end of the standard 5.7-liter V8. Some other reports are also predicting a hybrid variant, but that is unlikely to happen in 2021.
2021 Ram 3500 Price and Release Date
The all-new 2021 Ram 3500 won’t cost more than its predecessor. The price should largely remain, which means you can get this truck for $32,000. Thanks to the numerous trim levels and special editions, Ram 3500 is a very customizable truck.
Three cab configurations are also in the offer. The sales will start by the end of 2020, most likely in the last quarter of the year.
