New 2021 Mercedes X-Class is coming to the dealerships by the end of the current year. This pickup truck has been spied recently, and most of the details are finally available. The brand-new X-Class will feature a long wheelbase and new suspension. Numerous reports are suggesting a four-cylinder diesel engine that won’t be available in the United States.
On top of that, a turbodiesel V6 should be optional. The X-Class pickup truck will introduce new transmission and brand’s 4Matic AWD setup. Unfortunately, interior details are not available yet. Still, Mercedes will surely provide a premium cabin with plenty of standard amenities.
2021 X-Class Facelift
The new model has been caught on camera with a double-cab setup. The 2021 Mercedes X-Class looks very modern, and its bodywork is impressive. Styling is unique, and this pickup looks upright in every possible way. The X-Class pickup will compete in the mid-size segment, and it will offer a long list of standard features. A longer wheelbase is visible at first glance, and it seems like the Mercedes is offering standard 17-inch wheels.
We still don’t know which platform is in use, but this architecture should be able to accommodate the hybrid system. Some reports are suggesting the same platform that underpins current Nissan Navara. No doubt, Mercedes will put its pickup above the competition with great build, premium design, and numerous standard amenities. The truck looks unique, and its upper trim levels should offer nothing but a luxury.
The interior of the 2021 Mercedes X-Class will look very upscale. The German manufacturer plans to deliver a premium design with a high level of comfort. The customers should expect a lot of luxury, especially with the higher-grade trim levels. Some reports are writing about a standard 5.4-inch touchscreen, which is an interesting rumor.
We don’t believe that Mercedes will offer such a small unit as the competitors are offering at least a 7-inch displays. The steering wheel looks sporty, and leather upholstery is terrific. Mercedes offers a lot of high-quality materials and a lot of interesting shapes. Features such as push-button start, Wi-Fi, and the latest driver-assistance aids will be optional.
Diesel Engine Most Likely Outcome
Most reliable reports are writing about 2.3-liter four-cylinder diesel engine. This powertrain should be offered as standard. The 2021 Mercedes X-Class will deliver 187 hp and up to 405 lb-ft of torque. A seven-speed automatic transmission is available as the only option. On the other hand, a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 will be an optional engine that will deliver even more power.
However, both engines won’t reach American soil. We can’t say which engine will become available in the United States, but some type of gasoline will surely be in the offer. Lastly, the arriving pickup truck will offer Mercedes’ 4Matic AWD system as standard.
2021 Mercedes X-Class Price and Release Date
