The all-new 2021 Jeep Gladiator Convertible represents something unique in the pickup truck segment. Basically, every Gladiator is a convertible pickup as you can take off both hard and the soft top. It is the only open-roof or convertible pickup at the moment. Some rumors are mentioning the new Ford Bronco Pickup Truck that should feature the convertible body style.
Still, Gladiator is the only one at the moment so you can’t compare this model with, let’s say Toyota Tacoma. Gladiator plays in its own league. Thanks to that, if you like the idea of the open-roof pickup, Gladiator is your choice. Here’s what this model has to offer.
The upcoming 2021 Jeep Gladiator Convertible is also a body-on-frame pickup truck. To make things clear, the convertible version is the same as the regular Gladiator pickup. This is why Gladiator is perhaps the most practical pickup in the world. Jeep didn’t have to introduce two different body styles. You just take the roof off and you are ready to go.
Gladiator Convertible rides on a 137-inch long wheelbase and it provides aggressive appearance. At this moment, Gladiator is only available in a crew cab configuration. The two-door model will go on sale at some point in the next one or two years. Gladiator is very similar to the Wrangler SUV and it wears the company’s recognizable design language.
2021 Gladiator Convertible – Taking the Roof Off
This is the best part of the new 2021 Jeep Gladiator Convertible. It comes with three different roof configurations. It is the first mass-produced convertible pickup that has nothing to do with the military. You can get two tops, a hardtop, and a soft top. The hardtop roof removes in two sections. You can find easy-to-remove panels.
The front panel is easy to remove and the rear section requires tools that are coming with Gladiator’s purchase. As for the soft top, there are two major steps. You will find three pieces at the rear window. The upper area can be pushed back so you need only a few steps to take the roof off. The windshield comes off as well.
Diesel Engine is Coming
Once it arrives, the new 2021 Jeep Gladiator Convertible will use a 3.6-liter V6 engine. It is one of the most deployed units in the FCA’s lineup of vehicles. This reliable V6 can produce 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The customers are avoiding buying the 2020 Gladiator because there is no diesel engine in the offer.
Luckily, the 2021 Gladiator will get an optional 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel powertrain. This engine is good for 260 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque. On top of that, Jeep will offer a 6-speed manual transmission, besides the standard 8-speed automatic gearbox.
2021 Jeep Gladiator Convertible Price and Release Date
